Read all about love and friendship in today’s Valentine’s Edition:

Dear .

The 14th of February is Valentine’s Day. Everybody associates this day with something. For some the sky is awash with violins or roses, while others see it as the triumph of advertising over their free will. Perceptions are wide-ranging while interpretations of origin and tradition vary considerably:

Some attribute the day to the Bishop of Terni, others to the wife of the British writer Samuel Pepys, who thanked her husband on 14 February 1667 for his glowing love letter with a bouquet of flowers. Others believe the day originated during the celebration of the Roman tutelary goddess Juno, who was offered flower sacrifices on 14 February. Of course there are also those who put out the malicious gossip that Fleurop simply invented Valentine’s Day.

Whatever it is – in any case we offer you more than just commercial seduction on Valentine’s Day. We try to make sure that Valentine’s Day ends on the same romantic note on which it started when you give flowers to that special someone! We’ll leave you to judge:

At the Flora Forum we will introduce you to the world of the most effective flowers of love, which no man can resist. For the evening there is a recipe for a sensual sorbet made of rose petals and to make sure you really get into the swing of things: a voucher for a 10% discount on all your orders.

We will also be giving you a helping hand on the style and etiquette of giving flowers. Last but not least there are the three most important words on Valentine’s Day in a variety of languages and a selection of romantic card texts.
